I cannot tell you how happy I am that it is Friday. The family was sick all week, my dog may need to have surgery for a liver problem, and America’s Funniest Videos never lets the videos that are actually funny win the prize. The only exception was when those laughing quadruplets won. They were pretty funny. On the other hand, CapRock is no laughing matter.

I was surprised by this wine when I poured it into the glass. It was a little murky and a definite garnet color (with just a slight bit of purple). The Pinot smelled pleasantly spicy with some nice cinnamon accents. This is the first time that I have had a wine where I could actually tell they used cinnamon! (/pat on back)
The first thing that I thought about the taste was that it was slightly more acidic than I anticipated. Pinot Noirs tend to have slight notes of acid but this was on the higher end. However, it was not enough for me to call it unpleasant. I could also taste the cinnamon during the middle of the sip. I got a medium, slightly acidic finish that was smooth in the mouth. It was nice to find that there was no gritty texture though the wine was a little cloudy.
I would love to have this wine with grilled buffalo burgers with muenster cheese and spicy sweet potato fries. The rich flavors in the meat and cheese would go well with the spice.
Rating: Try Again
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this wine and it is quite enjoyable. I would have liked to have the meal to balance out some of the acidity, but this wine is good without food too.
